I want it to be a teacher because I love the interaction between teachers and students. The light in a child's eyes when they see something that clicks. It's just-- It's phenomenal. There's really no other feeling like it.
The University of West Alabama started off as a teaching college. And through the years education has grown because that's the core of our university. We continue to succeed and continue for our programs to grow more and more.
In addition to the undergraduate program, we also have master's, doctoral and a special program in the rural education. We do have a charter school on campus. The Charter School is in partnership with the University of Alabama. So for our field experience, we are going into the classroom.
Having charter school on campus is going to help me to gain more knowledge, and just to get more involved in education through their program here at UWA.
My teachers do not believe in busy work. All the work they give us is very informative. It really helps you prepare for the field. Our teachers, mold us, and they teach us to make a lesson plan. You will go into the actual classroom and you will teach. Everything that we do goes into building you into becoming the best teacher that you can be.
All my experiences here have far exceeded my expectations. I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else.
