I definitely have to say that critical thinking and creativity are two big hallmarks in the College of Liberal Arts. The professor's definitely encourage critical thinking a lot of what we do is self-led, because it forces us to come up with our own ideas to solve problems by ourselves.
The College of Liberal Arts really does push students in the right direction in order to be successful in the job market. And for me, They supply a pre-law program that really helps me achieve my dreams of being a lawyer.
Liberal Arts is the culmination of a bunch of different degrees. You got stuff like History and Language, Literature, IMC, which is Integrated Marketing Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Theatre, Music. All that comes together in a college that expresses itself through the human connection.
In terms of hands on learning experiences. We have a class in the IMC department, where we have an ad agency, the students do the work for the companies. We do branding, website building, rack cards, brochures, and the professors are there to help the students along the way, but it's real life work for people in the community.
By the end of the class, I mean, you really build a good portfolio for yourself, that shows, hey, I have the experience, and here's what I have to prove it, once you're going into a real job.
I think one of the best things about my classes in my professors is that they really focus on having conversation rather than a lecture. And so we're more engaged with the topic instead of just listening about them-- talk about the topic.
