I do believe that the STEM majors are a more curious breed of people. We tend to want answers. Basically what we do around campus is different experiments on the land, the labs,-- mixing different elements together, things like that. I chose the College of Natural Science and Mathematics because I want to help people with my major of Health Science. We do have a wide array of different majors and minors from Sports Management to Cell Molecular Biology or Pre-med. There's plenty of research that goes on in the natural science program. Part of the hands-on activities that I look forward to is working with the head director. He has published many textbooks. He has had nearly over 50 years of experience, which has helped me in my decision of coming to the University of West Alabama. I look forward to learn about the human body, when I get towards my athletic training classes. My roommates major is Cell Molecular Biology, and she's working in the fish lab, tracking their lifecycle recording data. We also have the Undergraduate Research Symposium, which is where students and faculty from multiple disciplines gathered together to present their research. UWA was a top choice for me, and I feel like this school will really prepare me to get in my choice of grad school, once I complete my four years.
