Faculty at UWA, I think hands down are phenomenal because they care. They care about their personal lives, where they're going in life, what they're going to do, their family, we get to know them. So I think that caring aspect is what makes the faculty at UWA so great.
As a university professor, I want to present a nurturing environment. And so I want our students to feel welcome. I want them to feel open, that they can come in and discuss anything with me.
We have awesome faculty here at UWA. We've got a lot who do research. They publish books, and they publish articles. They present that research their students, but I think also our faculty are really involved in the community. Those in athletic training, work with the high schools to make sure that they have athletic training access. So it really is across the board.
I think all faculty spend time talking to students, finding out their interests, finding out what they need in order to progress. And we will go above and beyond to make sure that the students are prepared for whatever comes next.
Having a personal connection with students is very important to me. I'm here to nurture so that they can become the best individual that they can become.
They'll come into our offices and tell us about things going on in their lives. So it really goes beyond what happens in the classroom. They're here, not just to learn from us, but to go beyond UWA and to figure out what career they want to go into. And so by having that regular access to us, we can kind of mentor them through that job process and really prepare them for the next steps.
